The Princess's New Clothes

It's that time of year again - the winter/summer closet clean out.

I'm in the midst of this project now, and have made some disturbing discoveries, such as:
  • None of my clothes from any season really fit (thanks a lot, Max). I have no intention of buying anything new, either, since I'm still not back to post-Patrick/pre-Maximilian shape, which is my goal. Therefore, I may not be leaving the house much.
  • Karol has no summer clothes. Literally. She has one dress that 'works' for now from the fall. Since Karol turned 3 in September and she's pretty svelte anyway, she wore 2T clothes all last year. So we need to do a shopping spree for summer gear for K like NOW as it's 80 degrees and rising! We're skipping 3T altogether and going to 4T. Hopefully some of it will still fit next summer.
  • Patrick has more clothes than anyone else in the house. I'm not sure how this happened. I think it's partially due to my constant anxiety that Karol, being the girl, naturally has why more clothes (although in reality that's not the case). Thanks to Pat's poochy belly, he's been in 3T since last summer, and it still fits perfectly fine - yay!
  • Max will never, ever need new clothes, and soon Pat & Max's clothes will be interchangeable. He's already into 18m and he's only 10 months old!
  • I may as well put a permanent line for Matt's shoes in the budget, because he goes through them like water and they are frickin' expensive! I hate, hate, hate shoe shopping for/with Matt. It's impossible to get something he likes or that fits without him there.
So, I just wanted to share these wonderful new developments. Now I'll go back to boxing sweaters.

Good Times in the Bath

Karol and I wrapped up the evening (a terrible, nothing goes right type of day today) with a mommy-daughter bath, complete with facial masques, tea-tree oil foot scrubs, and an intense game of 'Spuh-LASH!' which is a lot like catch, but without the catching.

Luckily the rest of the night went smoothly with no tears from either toddler at bedtime. Unfortunately, Matt will be up late tonight working on one of two final papers that is due tomorrow at noon. I will be SO glad when he is done with all of this on WEDNESDAY.

As for me, I've been done with class for a week or two now (yay!). Now I'm going nuts about packing, going through the kids' clothes and weeding the outgrown and winter weather gear from their drawers for storage, and making big piles of random stuff to be donated. We are going to be losing a lot of space with the move to NYC (oh yeah, and adding a kid) and the extra stuff just isn't getting out of my apartment fast enough for my taste.

It's 9pm, and I think I'm going to go to bed. That's actually a little early for me. I'm hoping tomorrow starts off a little smoother than today did, but I'm not looking forward to Matt being MIA while he crams on final projects the next three days!

Busting Out The Maternity Gear

Here's a pic of me wearing maternity clothes again for the first time this pregnancy.  This was late February.

Not too bad, eh?  I'm still stretching regular shirts over the belly, but maternity pants or skirts are a  must since about two weeks ago.

Chris Cooley Is My Tight End

In fantasy football, at least. And with Mr. Cooley bringing me like 15 points last week, I won handily. This week I'm facing Team Tanselle and that looks to be another win! I think I might be pulling into the lead for the first time EVER.

My strategy? Top secret. But on to more important things. Chris Cooley, as it turns out, has a blog here on blogger that is way more interesting than football (to me). I highly recommend it, and will be following it myself, at least through football season and probably beyond that as well.

In other news, I had the opportunity to watch CC do Washington Post Live during Advertising Week DC. If you can find the video clip (I can't), you can totally spot the back of my head on the bottom of the shot.

I do have a bone to pick with CC though. No, I'm not going to critique his football skills or tell him he should be doing drills 24/7 like some of the 'fans' that comment on his blog. This is about his upstart clothing line. I know I'm stating the painfully obvious to everyone else reading this (all two of you), but HELLO? Where is the CC47 baby gear? How about maternity wear? And I don't even have to mention that the shirt I want is kinda pricey.

Sure, there's the traditional kids' size Redskins jersey you can buy at Target or online, but what about authentic Chris Cooley gear? Come on, Cooley! Get with the program! What if I were 8 months pregnant like I was last season??? What am I supposed to wear??? An over-sized football jersey will make me look like a giant tent!

So there's my tip of the day for number 47.

Oh yeah, and the Redskins won yesterday, so - Yay!
